Student Paper Competition

The PA/NJ chapter of the American Association of Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) is holding a student paper competition. Awards will be presented to the top three papers!

Please indicate intention to submit (with working title) along with any questions to Yvonne Shands at yshands@ssrs.com.

Final paper submissions are to be completed by October 28, 2016.

Details:

Interested students can submit research papers that employ or discuss survey and opinion research, including survey methodology, survey practice, and survey data analysis.

We encourage entries from all fields of study, including political science, public policy, communications, economics, psychology, sociology, marketing, survey methods, and related fields.

Papers will be reviewed/assessed by volunteers from PANJAAPOR. Please indicate intention to submit (with working title) along with any questions to Yvonne Shands at yshands@ssrs.com. Final paper submissions are to be completed by October 28, 2016.

Requirements:

This competition is open to all current graduate and undergraduate students, and to those who have received their degree within the last calendar year. Papers should not exceed 25 pages total.

First Place Award:

  • A cash award of $300
  • Opportunity to be part of student paper panel at the 2016 National AAPOR Conference
  • Opportunity to present at the PANJAAPOR 2016 Spring Event (date TBD)

Second Place Award:

  • A cash award of $125
  • Opportunity to present at the PANJAAPOR 2016 Spring Event (date TBD)

Third Place Award*:

  • A cash award of $100
  • Opportunity to present at the PANJAAPOR 2016 Spring Event (date TBD)

*The third place award will be reserved for the best undergraduate paper as long as it was not already recognized as winning either the first or second place award.
